Cameroon Food Guide

By news desk on July 18,2007

Manioc leaves, feuille, rice, pae and fufu (corn flour) are just a few of the ingredients that make up Cameroon’s dishes. Rice is usually eaten with sauces made from corn, manioc and plantains (bananas). Street food is highly recommended, especially grilled spiced brochettes stuffed into bread roll with dressing and the Cameroonian style grilled chicken and fish with thick mashed potatoes. However, stop short at stews - the ingredients are often questionable.

The country grows a lot of fruits such as avocado pears, citrus fruits, pineapples and mangoes. Prawns are available in plenty in southern coastal areas.
