Since Kenya is so geographically diverse, when you must go depends on where you want to go. There are two rainy seasons-- the ‘short rains’ (from October to November) and the ‘long rains’ (from March to May). Generally, on the central highlands, temperatures are mild, but it can get very hot in the north and east of the country, where there are arid bushlands. If you intend to go on a safari, do take into account the desert-like climate in many of the national parks. For game lovers, the best season is Jan-Feb, since that is when the animals crowd water-holes.
