Most hotels in Maseru have restaurants attached to them. The dining options range from luxurious to budget, continental to local. For other meal options, the small stalls and eating-houses on Kingsway sell good and wholesome food, including grilled meat and exquisite local dishes of stew served with cassava.
There is not much nightlife in Maseru except for a couple of nightclubs, a few bars and theatres for movies. Nightclubs open late and go on till early morning. Despite this, nightlife is low-key.
Shopping
Shopping for arts & crafts in the capital is a definite no. Maseru doesn’t have much to offer in terms of traditional handicrafts. Villages are the ideal place to shop for the exotic seed and porcupine quill jewellery, ebony and copper chess sets, wool and mohair rugs, tapestries and textiles and pottery and rock paintings. Teyateneng is the ideal place, developed by the government as a centre for traditional art and craft, only 30km away from Maseru.
