The best time to visit Malawi is in the dry season from the end April to October/ November as it is the coolest time of the year in Malawi. The dry season is also the best time to see wild animals when they come down to the water holes even though the heat is unpleasant in the lowlands. The landscape is much more attractive and conditions less oppressive in the ‘winter’ months from May to July, but as this period follows the rainy season, there are fewer animals about.
