Namibia Travel Document Guide

All travellers require a passport valid for at least another six months and an onward ticket in order to enter Namibia. Visas are essential requirement only for citizens of countries apart from the nationals of Angola, Austria, Belgium, Botswana, Canada, Germany, Luxembourg, France, Italy, Ireland, Japan, Liechtenstein, Mozambique, the Netherlands, the Nordic Countries, Russia, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, Spain, Portugal, South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Visas can be obtained from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Private Bag 13200, Windhoek, from Namibia’s missions in other countries and at Namibia Tourist Offices in Johannesburg and Cape Town. Visas are issued for a period of 90 days, and extensions for a further maximum period of 90 days can be obtained on applying to Immigration authorities. British passport holders can stay for a maximum of 3 months without a visa. Visas can be issued in the tourist, business or transit category and are valid for three months from date of issue.
