The Seychelles can be described as an outdoor activity paradise – there are innumerable opportunities for walking, hiking or trekking, rock-climbing, snorkeling, diving, swimming, fishing, yachting, windsurfing, island-hopping by helicopter, and even getting married! Walking trails are clearly designated EASY, MEDIUM or DIFFICULT to help you choose the trail; some popular walks are in the stunning Vallee de Mai National Park, the walk between Danzil and the Anse Major beach on Mahe, the Trois Ferres path, the paths through the palm forest area of La Reserve and Brulee, the many trails in the Morne Seychelles National Park and the path from La Pass to Grand Anse in La Digue. The walk up to the summit of Copolia is well worth it for the views of the islands from the top.
Seychelles also offers year-round sailing – it is possible to hire charter boats with crews or to be adventurous and try some ‘bare-back’ sailing. Diving, swimming and snorkeling in the crystal-clear waters are a must-do and there are several experienced tour operators to let you know which are the best areas for these. Allegedly, the best spots in Mahe are St. Anne, Anse Soleil and Petit Anse.
Getting married on the islands is a very popular activity, and several tour operators offer special wedding package deals, including catering, photography, music, and of course, the honeymoon that follows!
