Cape Town Shopping Guide

By news desk on July 16,2007

image
The most obvious choice for shopping in Cape Town is the Victoria and Albert Waterfront, with almost everything you may want or need, from international brands to local crafts and African souvenirs, but expect to pay more here than in most other locations around the city. There are numerous local markets around the city that are grittier, but less expensive and definitely more atmospheric. These include the one in Cape Town Station on Adderley St in the city center, which specializes in local favourites like radios, leather goods and African crafts; Constantia Craft Market on Alphen Common, in Constantia; Greenmarket Square on Burg St, city center where you can pick up colourful handmade Cape Town beachwear from T-shirts to shorts and sandals, books and antiques.
