Food with a strong French influence like brioches, salads and grills is available at reasonable prices at the cafes, bars and restaurants in Lome. Spicy local food, both Togolese and African cuisines and regional specialities from Senegal and Ghana are also available. Roadside vendors sell peanuts, fresh corn on the cob, pates, baguettes, omelettes and grilled prawns.

There are number of enjoyable places to spend your evenings, while in Togo. The capital, Lome boasts of a lively nightlife with concerts and live performances by musical groups in discotheques and hotels. Hotels stay open till quite late in the night though it is advised that visitors not risk life and limb or their valuables by staying out very late.
