Fine French fare, wholesome German food, spicy and fragrant Arab cuisine – take your pick from a wide variety of dining options in elegant restaurants, street cafes or wayside stalls in the medina. The traditional food of Tunisia like couscous and stews can be savoured in the authentic ambience of the souk in the medina at eating establishments called gargottes. The French also left behind cafes and patisseries – perfect for a late afternoon cup of coffee and cake.

Tunisia is slowly opening up to Vegas style casinos and discos – operated primarily in the tourist centres of the country for foreign visitors. Bars and cafes for a conversation and drinks alongside the drinking with the locals and cinemas to catch up on Arabic cinema are the other ways to spend evenings in Tunisia.
