Jamaica is well connected by regular and reliable domestic airlines, whose fares that are reasonably priced. You can also scour the island in a private charter flight or on a helicopter.

Rentals
The countryside offers many a scenic site worth exploring and is only possible if you’re in your own vehicle. On the whole, roads in Jamaica are in quite good condition though driving at night is not recommended. There are a number of car rental companies that have outlets in the airport and in the larger hotels. Bikes and cycles can also be rented on the island.

By Bus and Minibus
Air conditioned and comfortable, the buses along the north coast are perhaps the only ones worth venturing into. Overall public transport is limited to over crowded, almost broken down buses that never seem to stick to a schedule. There are numerous bus stops: anywhere on the road where a passenger desires to get on or off. For the budget travellers, this is a good option to tour the island. Minibuses are pretty much the same as buses – crowed and unreliable but cheap.

Tip – the earlier you start the better chances of a comfortable journey.
