Getting Around Montego Bay

By news desk on June 25,2007

How do I get there?

By Air
Montego Bay International Airport is about 3 km from the city. Many domestic flights serve Montego Bay. There is a regular shuttle service between the airport and the city. You can rent a car from any one of the car rental firms represented at the airport.

By Road
Trans-island travel by road, especially by car, is not considered safe. There are buses and coaches that travel between cities. Bookings for the same should be done in advance.

Getting Around

Be independent and move around in a rented car. Driving at night, especially out of city limits, is not recommended, as the roads outside town are winding and potholed.

Buses run on certain routes and are quite popular and inexpensive.
