Stunning, with their brilliant colours, the marine life in the Caribbean Sea is worth an exploration. Whether you are a jaded diver or a beginner, whether you want to explore the depths of the sea or want to splash near the surface, the clear waters around Tobago are perfect for you. There are a number of walls, caves and canyons presenting perfect diving sights. Every possible variety of hard coral grows in these waters – but remember, don’t touch. You’ll spot a variety of fish swimming around – keep a lookout for the Manta Ray if you want to hitch a roller coaster ride into the deep blue waters. Arons Vale, Pirate’s Bay, Man ‘o’ War, Store Bay, Bucco Reef are some of the best sights. Most beaches are equipped with dive shops where you can rent all the equipment you want. There are not too many safe diving sights around Trinidad.

To many, a Caribbean holiday includes taking back a picture featuring them and their biggest catch. A number of companies arrange deep sea fishing excursions. Sailfish, tuna, Wahoo, blue marlin, are some of your likely catches.

The islands also provide plenty of opportunities for sailing, Kayaking and windsurfing.

Shopping

Trinidad is full of shopping malls where you will find anything you are looking for. Local crafts range from straw baskets, models of dancers to jewellery and steel drums. You will also get beautiful fabrics - silks, cottons and batiks - and you can even get your dress stitched by the seamstresses at the island. Trinidad's shopping areas are at Frederick Street, Independence Square, Longcircular Mall, West Mall, Valpark Plaza, Trincity Mall, High City and Gulf City. In contrast, Tobago has fewer malls and shopping areas but do keep some space in your suitcase for Tobago's renowned Rum and Angostura Bitters.
