Mongolia Travel Document Guide

By news desk on September 10,2007

Travellers to Mongolia require a passport valid for at least six months and a visa. Visas, whether transit visas or tourist visas, are a mandatory requirement for anybody visiting Mongolia.   Visa applications can be made to the nearest Mongolian embassy, consulate or honorary consulate. Thanks to Mongolia’s bilateral agreements with some countries, you might find that you actually do not need a visa, but it’s best to make sure beforehand, as visas are required of most nationalities. All visas must be obtained well in advance as the facility for issuing visas on arrival no longer exists.

If you’re going to be staying in Mongolia for more than 30 days, you’ll need to go and get yourself registered at the nearest State Police Station.
