On the whole eating out in El Salvador is more expensive than in the surrounding countries in Central America. The main hotels and exclusive restaurants are located in the capital and offer an extensive menu. The array of fast food restaurants is present in the major cities. The choice of cuisines and prices decreases as you head into the interiors and smaller towns or EL Salvador.
San Salvador and San Miguel boast of an entertaining nightlife offering amusement in the pounding discotheques or the movie theatres screening Hollywood releases. The smaller towns offer a cosy tête-à-tête in a bar or café.
