Cheju Island Shopping Guide

Although Cheju does not offer the sort of range you’ll find in Seoul, the island’s shops have some interesting local handicrafts that make nice souvenirs. Look out, especially, for ceramics, silks and other textiles and lacquerware. You might also be able to pick up some good basketry and shell work artefacts on Cheju.

Cheju does have large stores and the odd supermarket, where you can get fairly fancy stuff, but don’t expect them at bargains- if you want to buy electronics and designer wear, wait till you get to Seoul.
