Getting Around Sofia

By news desk on January 15,2008

Cars, without or without a driver, can easily be hired in Sofia; there are a number of car rental agencies. Alternatively, you could use the public transport system- Sofia has a fairly reliable network of buses, trams and trolleys, and travel on these can be usually hassle-free and economical. The taxi service in the city is also a good option, though you’ll obviously end up spending more than you would on buses or trams. If you are on a limited budget (and like walking), a good idea would be to take a bus or tram into the heart of the city (where nearly all of Sofia’s most popular tourist sights are located), and then walk around. It saves money, and all the sights are so close together that it makes sense to simply use your legs to move around.
