Climatic Overview Of Gdansk

By news desk on January 15,2008

image

Gdansk’s climate is continental, like that of the rest of Poland. Temperatures remain fairly low through most of the year, with average spring temperatures hovering around 18ºC. Summers are obviously warmer, but never hot. Winter temperatures invariably drop to below freezing, and the months of December, January and February are often snowy, foggy and none too pleasant.

Precipitation peaks in July and August, when the average rainfall is about 75 mm; the winters are drier, and rain is replaced by snow. A significant- but none too pleasant- feature of Gdansk’s climate is that the weather is subject to sudden and wild swings; mornings can be bright and sunny, followed by cold and wet afternoons, culminating in a beautifully clear and  balmy evening. Go prepared for a fairly temperamental climate.
