All visitors to Romania must have a passport that is valid for at least six months from the date of departure. Nationals of the USA and the EU are exempt from visa requirements for a stay of up to 30 days. Nationals of Bosnia – Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Costa Rica, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Hungary, Republic of Korea, Macedonia, Malaysia, Moldova, Poland, San Marino, Slovak Republic, Turkey, Ukraine and Yugoslavia do not need a visa for a stay of up to 30 days. Nationals of CIS countries are not required to have a visa, but except in the case of Moldavians, must have a letter of invitation issued by Romanian authorities, proof of sufficient funds for their stay and a return or onward journey ticket to enter Romania. Nationals of most other countries can only procure a visa on showing an official invitation ratified by the Romanian authorities. Check with the Romanian embassy or consulate in your country about visa requirements and restrictions.
