By Air
Bucharest has the largest international airport in all of Romania, Otopeni Airport, connected by TAROM, the national carrier of Romania, as well as other world carriers. From Otopeni, you can cover the 16 km to the city centre by bus (frequency: 15 minutes) or pay a hefty amount and get there by taxi. Both are easily available outside the airport. There are connections to Bucharest from Constanta Arad, Satu Mare, Sibiu and Timisoara in Romania.
By Rail
The Rapid or expres line connects Bucharest to many international locations, such as Vienna. There are five main train stations in the capital, and trains terminate at the Gara de Nord. You can get into town by taxi or metro.
By Road
If you’re driving in from Hungary, Brasov or Bulgaria you can use the highways leading into the city – provided you have the required documents. In order not to get harrowed by guards at the border posts, make sure you have all your papers in order before entering.
