Bratislava Hotel Accommodation Guide

By news desk on January 17,2008

image
Bratislava isn’t overcrowded with smart and glitzy hotels, but there are modern establishments and a number of old, elegant properties that are very comfortable- and pretty expensive. Similarly priced are the `boatels’- small but smart hotels that float on the Danube. If, however, you’d rather stay in cheaper accommodation, there are choices here too. Highest up on the scale of budget accommodation are the pensions and two-star hotels; they are not very luxurious, but all are fairly comfortable and worth every penny you pay. On a lower rung are the youth hostels, which provide basic necessities, and cost proportionately less- between 200 to 850 Slovak Koruna for a double room. Bratislava also has its very own resort- a campsite called Zlate Piesky (`Golden Sands’), on the shore of the lake of the same name. The resort is extremely popular, especially during the summer, so steer clear of it if you don’t like crowds.
