Getting Around Bratislava

By news desk on January 17,2008

Bratislava has a good network of buses and trams, which cover almost every square inch of the city. They are a good and convenient way to get around, and cheap too, if you purchase a day pass. There are taxis too, but travelling in these can be a bit risky, as meters are often faulty, and unscrupulous cab drivers are always on the lookout for unwary passengers to rip off.

If you want to strike out on your own, the best thing to do is to hire a car (there are a number of car rental companies in town), get yourself a good map, and set off. Many of Bratislava’s most popular tourist sights are located in close proximity to each other, so it’s a good idea to take some form of transport- a bus, tram, taxi or rented car- to a locality, and then walk around the area on your own.
