Anitkabir (Ataturk Museum) is the masoleum of Kemal Ataturk, the founder of modern Turkey. Completed in 1953, it is a brilliant fusion of modern and ancient architecture. There is a museum housing letters, writings and items belonging to Ataturk as well as an exhibition of photographs of great moments in his life. The museum and Anitkabir are open everyday except Monday. During summer, there is a light and sound show that is worth watching.
