Annual Events In Antwerp: An Overview

Besides being commercially important, Antwerp is also a cultural centre. The city’s calendar is full of special events and celebrations that revolve around culture and commerce.

Most of Antwerp’s popular festivals take place during the summer. These include the World Culture Market (held on Ascension Day), the Spinks Festival (an extravaganza of ethnic music) and the Port Festival, held in the last week of May. Other events are the Jazz Middelheim, and the Continuous Music Festival (a series of open-air concerts held between May and September).
