By Air
The easiest way to get to Zagreb is by air. Zagreb’s international airport, which is about 17 km about from the city, is connected by air to various cities across Europe. This means that if you want to get to Zagreb from any of the other continents, you’ll need to first take a flight to one of European cities and then catch a flight to Zagreb. From the airport, there are regular buses to the city.
By Train/ Bus
Another good option is to take one of the trains or buses that connect Zagreb to other European cities, in Germany, Hungary, Belgium and the Netherlands. There are also regular train services connecting Zagreb to and from Italy, Austria, Hungary, Germany and Romania. Travellers with their own vehicle can use border crossings between Hungary and Croatia, between Slovenia and Croatia, between Bosnia and Croatia and between Yugoslavia and Croatia.
Within Croatia
You can fly into Zagreb from the Croatian cities of Dubrovnik, Pula, Split, and Skopje. If you want to save some money, use the excellent train or bus networks- both are efficient, fast and reliable, and getting to the capital from any part of the country is easy.
