Getting Around Frankfurt: Transport Guide

By news desk on September 26,2007

There are lots of good car rental agencies in Frankfurt, and hiring a vehicle is easily the most convenient way of getting around the city. Get yourself a good map, and you shouldn’t face any trouble making your way around.

Alternatively- and this is a good alternative- you could try using the public transport system operated by the RMV, the regional transport company. This includes a huge network of trains, trams and buses, which cover every conceivable part of Frankfurt and are a good option if you want someone else to do the driving. If you’re looking at economy, get hold of a `Frankfurt Card’- a pass which allows travel on all RMV routes for two days, and also entitles you to discounts on entry fees for a number of museums. It’s a value-for-money option specifically aimed at tourists, and can be bought at the tourist office.

Frankfurt also has taxis, which can be hailed on the street, hired at cab ranks, or phoned for.
