Amsterdam Shopping Guide

By news desk on October 08,2007

image

Amsterdam is replete with antique shops, interesting boutiques, flower markets and little stores selling a serendipity of items.. and also of course modern and well-known departmental stores.

Do not forget your porcelain shopping – there are items ranging from those found at local markets to the affordable new tiles and expensive delft platters at renowned stores.

The market culture is very popular in Amsterdam and in the Antiekmarkt De Looier you will find stalls selling everything from expensive artifacts to cheap bricabrac. In summer an art market is held on Sundays at Spui. and Thorbeckeplien where you can pick up watercolours and etchings from the local artists. If flowers are your passion, don’t miss the flower market at Bloemenmarkt.
