Getting Around Rotterdam

By news desk on October 09,2007

image
Your own two legs are perhaps the best way of getting around Rotterdam’s popular sights, but travels further afield definitely require transportation of some sort or the other. A car, rented from one of the rental agencies in town, is easily the best bet; alternatively, you can use the public transport system. Rotterdam has an efficient and reliable network of buses and trams, supplemented by a convenient underground metro system. Maps and special discounted tourist travel passes for all public transport are available at the tourist office. In addition to buses, trams and the metro, Rotterdam has taxis - available at ranks, on the street, and over the phone, and boats. A number of ferry companies ply boats along the canal, the Maas River, and the harbour, and a cruise is a must-do for any tourist visiting Rotterdam.
