Health & Safety

It is essential for a traveller to carry a health insurance and their regular medical prescriptions. Major health risks are yellow fever, cholera, typhoid, polio, malaria and diarrhoea. In summer, ailments such as sunburns and dehydration occur due to excessive heat. It is advisable to carry a supply of water and wear appropriate clothing to guard against the heat. Water available is high on chlorine and can cause abdominal upsets and should preferably be avoided. Mineral water is readily available throughout Iran.
