Insight Into Denmark's Customs And Duties

By news desk on September 11,2007

image

Visitors entering Denmark can bring in as much foreign currency as they please; however, when you’re leaving the country, you are not allowed to take out more DKK than you brought in- unless you’re able to prove that you got it by exchanging foreign currency.

All personal effects- clothing, perfumes and the like- are allowed free of duty into Denmark; but there are restrictions on tobacco and liquor. Visitors may bring up to 250 cigarettes (or 250 gm tobacco) and up to 1 litre of spirits (or 2 litres of strong wine, depending upon whether you’re coming from a country within the EU or not). Remember that the Danish authorities are very strict on narcotics; anyone caught with drugs can really get it in the neck.
