Getting Around Arhus: Transport Guide

By news desk on September 11,2007

Århus has some good car rental agencies, and hiring a car is one of the best ways of getting around the town. For a somewhat cheaper ride, opt for a bicycle- it’s probably the most popular mode of transport among the locals, and with good reason too; traffic is definitely not unruly, and pedalling your way through the streets of Århus can be a real pleasure.

If, however, you’d rather let someone else do the driving, there’s an efficient public transport system, comprising of buses and trains that carry you around the city and into the suburbs as well. Check at the local tourist office, at the bus terminal or at the train station for discounted passes and travel tickets. Taxis, although usually metered, can be pretty expensive and are not recommended for a budget traveller, unless you are part of a group.
