Getting Around Birmingham: Transport Guide

By news desk on September 19,2007

Hiring a car from one of Birmingham’s many car rental agencies is probably the most convenient way of getting around the city and its environs.

However, if you’d rather depend upon public transport, you can opt for the local buses and coaches. The city’s bus system is fast and efficient, and covers nearly all of Birmingham and its suburbs. Equally good is the local train network- called the Midlands Metro (it covers not just the city of Birmingham, but also some of the other important towns of the Midlands, including Wolverhampton). For any enquiries relating to transport within and around Birmingham, contact Centro Hotline- they’re very helpful.

Taxis too are available in Birmingham; they can be hailed in the street, or you can phone for one- telephone numbers of Dial-a-Cab services can be found in the local Yellow Pages.
