Getting Around Liverpool: Transport Guide

By news desk on September 20,2007

image

Whether you get around Liverpool on foot, or take a cab, or hire a car, one thing you must do is take the ferry across the Mersey- besides being pretty exciting, it's also Liverpool's biggest attraction. The Pier Head landing stage is one of the main places from where ferries depart (and come in).

Anyway, if you need to make your way around the city in a more prosaic way, try hiring a car is a convenient way to get around. Alternatively, you could use public transport- the city has a good network of buses, trains and trams (Liverpool was one of the first cities in England- and the world- to get trams, and they're quite an institution!) There are taxis too, which can be either phoned for, or hailed.
