By news desk on September 18,2007

By Air

There are several carriers operating domestic flights but are quite expensive.

By Bus

Haggis Backpackers bus service runs between Scotland's Youth Hostels, as does Go Blue Banana. The popular CityLink connects Scotland extensively and also offers great value passes for people planning to travel over a long time.

By Train

If you are willing to spend a little extra money then traveling through Scotland by train will provide a scenic journey. The network though, is not too well connected and you may have to take  a bus to your final destination.

By Car

Roads are generally good although you may have only one road on back lanes Also, make sure that the gas tank remains full because the petrol stations may be few and far apart. A   valid driver’s license or an International license is required and remember that driving is on the left.

By Boat

Boats run to most of the islands from Oban, Mallaig and Ullapool, or you can get a ferry from Aberdeen to Orkney or Shetland.
