Glasgow Travel Guide

By news desk on September 18,2007

Sitting on the bank of the river Clyde, Glasgow was acclaimed at one time, as one of the most beautiful cities in all of Europe. Prosperity and industrialisation, however, took its toll, and by the 20th century, Glasgow’s beauty had diminished considerably. The city had become depressingly dirty and dull, and it took a lot of work getting the city to where it is today. It was only about two decades ago that work started on cleaning up Glasgow, and the town council’s efforts have paid off. Glasgow today is a vibrant, bright and exciting city, with picturesque views, interesting monuments, lots of good shopping, and restaurants. It’s also one of Scotland’s most visited cities, and with good reason too.
