Though Cyprus welcomes tourists throughout the year, it would be best if you planned your trip, during April – May or September- October. The months of July and August can be uncomfortably hot and dry . If you are price conscious then most hotels lower their prices between November and March, but be aware that it can get cold and wet at this time of the year.
In the south, Easter, is celebrated with much gusto and is the biggest event of the year – you can revel in the candle-lit processions and the feisty feasting . Cyprus Independence Day – an ironic joke for many now - is still celebrated on 1 October. The Turkish north is at its most festive during the Muslim festivals – like Ramdam – but due to astrological rules, the date keeps changing from year to year. All over the country, things are cheaper in winter.
