A picturesque boat ride on the Moskva River presents yet another angle to the wonderful city. A river boat ride is the perfect way to idle away a balmy summer afternoon in the most romantic manner - the city floats by as the boat gently passes between Kiev Station to Novospassky Most,  past Sparrow Hills, Frunzenskaya, Gorky Park, Krimean Most, Bolshoy Kamenny Most, Ustinsky Most and the Red Square.

Next in line is 'banya’ - Russian for bath - a combination of dry sauna, steam bath, massage and plunges into ice-cold water. People go in for these baths armed with tea, fruits and beer. The process begins with the sauna, proceeds to the steam bath and ends in the dip into the freezing water. A break at the changing room to discuss the matters of the world and then the course of action is repeated. These repetitions may be carried on for a period of 2 to 3 hours. Baths are gender segregated for maximum privacy.

Winter sports in Moscow ranges from ice skating to cross-country skiing in the numerous parks in the city.
20 km north of the city on the Moscow River, at the Serebryaniya Bor are a number of beaches that are unofficially divided for families, gays, nudists and disco dancers. Come hot summer days and its time to let one's hair down!
