By news desk on July 21,2008

There are 3 local English language newspapers in Goa 'The Navhind Times', 'The Gomantak Times' and 'Herald'. These are widely circulated and available in all tourist areas at news-stands and hotels. The coverage is mostly regional and local with a smattering of foreign news.

There are also a few vernacular newspapers in Marathi and Konkani such as 'Gomantak, 'Tarun Bharat' and 'Sunaparant'.

These concentrate more on the local news items and are read avidly by the local population in the rural areas.

Most national and foreign newspapers and magazines are also available at the main local news-stands, book stalls and hotels in the tourist areas.

Magazines like 'Goa Today', 'Gulab', 'Casa e Jardim' are also published locally.
