Getting Around Jodhpur

By news desk on December 07,2007

Transport inside the city could be a big problem as the public transport system is not all that great, and the few city buses are erratic and crowded. Do rent a vehicle - it makes it very convenient to see both the city and its environs. Plenty of hired transport is easily available, be it cars, jeeps, minibuses or MUVs, always with a chauffeur. An international or a valid country driving license is mandatory for all drivers, traffic drives on the left though it is advisable to use the services of an experienced driver as traffic tends towards the chaotic, and more importantly, if you are heading out towards the desert. Travel agents and tour operators organize sightseeing tours by cars and buses alongwith a tourist guide. So does the state run RTDC. Auto rickshaws, cycle rickshaws and private taxis are the other ways of getting around the city.
