The Saddar or city centre is the main shopping area. Saddar Co-operative Market has shops selling handicraft items from hand-woven carpets, leather goods, and silk fabrics to wood products and brassware. There are also several restaurants and food stalls lining the streets for a quick bite. The Sarafa Bazaar is in the old city area, sells gold and silver jewellery. Zainab Market is good for cotton dresses and handicrafts, while Bohri Bazaar is also another old market worth ambling into. The modern shopping districts are in Clifton, Zaib-un-Nisa Street, Abdullah Haroon Road and Mohammad Ali Jinnah Road. The old markets in the eastern area are full of atmosphere, including the Juna market, Kharadar, Mithadar and Jodia Bazaar.  Karachi is rich in handicraft products and you can pick up a good bargain in brassware, carved silverware, jewellery, embroidered fabrics and handloom products.  The PIDC Cottage Industries showroom also sells a wide selection of products and prices are fixed.
