For a taste and feel of authentic Pakistani cuisine you need to be adventurous and try the local restaurants. Food is dished out straight from the oven with the sights and sounds of a bazaar in the background. The grills and barbeques, especially the “kababs”, “tikkas” and “sajji” will have you coming back for more. Pakistani mutton and chicken curries are best had with the rice dish called “Pullao”.

    Serving or drinking of alcohol is restricted to places that have permits. Pakistanis are greatly enamoured with cinema, and it is the most popular form of entertainment. Locally produced films pack in music and songs, mostly in Punjabi and Urdu.
