Brunei Travel Guide

Brunei Darussalam on the island of Borneo is the closest South East Asia comes to utopia. It’s a land of sandy beaches, forests, rivers- and no taxes. Although it’s one of the smallest countries, the Sultanate of Brunei is one of the richest nations in Asia. The Sultan of Brunei is the world’s richest monarch; the people have the highest per capita incomes in the world; there are no personal taxes; healthcare and education are free; and houses and cars are subsidised. Utopia? Pretty close to it!
