Getting Around Penang

By news desk on November 02,2007

image
The most convenient way of getting around Penang is by a hired car with or without a driver. Penang also has a bus service (the main bus station is Kom Tar Bus Terminal), and you can always take the funicular railway up to Penang Hill. In the capital Georgetown, there are taxis, which however, are not allowed to `cruise’ around looking for fares. Georgetown is not a very large town, so if you’re fond of walking, one of the best ways to see the town is on your own two feet. Another easy way is from the backseat of a trishaw- it’s an experience not to be missed, as you get to see the streets close-up, and you don’t tire yourself out either.
