Penang Entertainment Guide

By news desk on November 02,2007

If you’re fond of eating, Penang is the place for you. It’s been called Malaysia’s `Gourmet’ Paradise’, and with reason. As in other Malaysian cities, you have your choice of hotels, restaurants and food stalls, selling Indian, Chinese and Malay food. Besides these, you can get Nonya food, and a host of other cuisines- Japanese, European, fast food- whatever you want.

Penang’s recreational facilities are pretty varied. There are movies, of course, but these are mostly in Chinese. On the other hand, there’s another kind of entertainment- Georgetown is the home of the Malaysian Grand Prix. Annually, car races are held, with cars competing from all over South East Asia. The Penang Turf Club holds horse races five times a year, and there is also an 18-hole golf course. But, really- some of the best recreation can be had just by walking down a street- there’s so much to see and to discover!
