The hotels and resorts of Pattaya have food and beverage outlets serving everything from traditional Thai food to Asian and Continental specialities. Pattaya’s quite a large city, and besides the restaurants attached to larger properties, there are also stand-alone restaurants, with an equally wide range of cuisines. You just have to feast on the seafood specialities for which Pattaya is quite famous. Equally delicious is the fruit, especially mangosteens, durians and rambutans, which come to Pattaya from nearby Chanthaburi and are in season between May and September.
Pattaya is hard to beat when it comes to entertainment- there’s so much scope for recreation that it’s impossible to get bored. There are discotheques, cabarets, bars and nightclubs (particularly centred around the area known as `The Strip’), but if you’d prefer something less noisy, there are regular cultural shows, featuring traditional Thai dances, dance dramas and musical performances as well. Refer to the ‘Explore Pattaya’ handbook for details of entertainment offered- it’s quite comprehensive, and easily available with booksellers and travel agents.
