The Contemporary Music Festival is held in late May and early June, when top Russian and international performers enthral and enrapture audiences.

The December Nights Festival is a show case for  Russian and foreign talent, and the venue to listen to the best of classical music in elegant  surroundings. From mid-December to early January this festival is held at the many theatres, halls and museums in Moscow.

The Winter Festival is an outdoor fun fest held during early January. People make sure they fortify themselves with shots of vodka before setting out to build intricate ice sculptures at the Red Square and in front of the Pushkin Museum. The very adventurous pick holes into the Moscow River and plunge into its icy depths. This by the way makes one a member of the 'Walrus’ Club. Unless you are sure of your thermal tolerance, please do not try this. You may become a blue walrus in the throes of hypothermia!
