Visitors of 18 years and above may import the following into Uzbekistan without incurring duties: 1000 cigarettes or 1 kg of tobacco, 1.5 litres of alcohol or 2 litres of wine, perfumes for personal use and personal items of a total value not exceeding $10,000. Declare all your valuables and foreign currency at customs.

Import prohibitions apply to firearms and ammunition, anti-Uzbek literature, live animals, fruits and vegetables.

Antiques (i.e. items more than 100 years old) and objects of special cultural significance can only be imported with a special permit. Precious metals, stones and fur may not be exported.

The import and export of local currency, the Uzbek Som (S), is unrestricted. There aren’t any restrictions on the import of foreign currency but those importing more than $1000 or equivalent should expect special checks of their luggage and person. Those who import more than $2000 or its equivalent must provide proof of exchange into the Uzbek Sum. Export of foreign currency is limited to $1500 or its equivalent.
