Perhaps the easiest- and quickest- way of getting around Osaka is to go by the subway. It’s quick, reliable and the chances of getting lost (provided you have a route map with you) are slim. Moreover, it’s fairly cheap if you buy a one-day pass. One-day passes can also be bought to travel on the city’s buses, but this is something best avoided. Buses have no signs or routes indicated in English, and most bus routes are too complicated anyway. The third way of getting around the city is by taxi - there are lots of them on the streets to be hailed, expensive of course. Be warned, though: most cabbies speak no English, and if you get stuck in one of Osaka’s notorious traffic jams, you might as well bid the rest of your day goodbye.
