Siem Reap follows the Cambodian climatic pattern and so is typically tropical- hot and humid almost all the year through. When it’s not raining, it’s hot and muggy and the summers in Siem Reap can get especially hot. Two monsoons, the southwest and the northeast monsoons dominate the climate in the area. The southwest monsoons bring heavy rains between May and October, while the northeast monsoons cause rain between November and March. Mean temperatures in much of the country- especially in the area around the Tonlé Sap basin including the town of Siem Reap - range between 22° C and 28° C with the average rainfall range between 100 and 190 cm annually. |
