The best time to visit is in the summer, around July or August when the weather is at its warmest and the gardens and parks look their very best. Spring- late April or early May- and autumn- late September and early October- are good times to be in the country, even though there is a nip in the air. What’s particularly good about visiting Sofia and Bulgaria in the spring or autumn is that it’s off-season, there are fewer tourists about and accommodation is easily available. The winter months of December to April are great for winter sports - especially skiing.
