If it’s a picnic you want to take, a favourite place is Karagol Lake, 68km north of Ankara on the airport road. The three dams – Cubuk (15km), Kurtbogazi (50km) and Bayindir (15km) are also great swimming and picnic spots.You’ll find good restaurants here and  there are comfortable camping facilities in Bayindir.

Explore the forests around Ankara – Beynam Forest, Kankoru Forest and Kizilcahamam Soguksu National Park. Some 23km from Ankara, Elmadag Mountain is famous for its winter sports at the pleasant resort to be found there.

Soak away your cares in the famous thermal baths – Kizilcahamam Kaplica (80km), Haymana Kaplica (72km), Ayas Kaplica (57km) and Dutlu Kaplica (85km). The baths combine therapeutic qualities with pure pleasure!
